Kentucky-born William Mapother may be best known for his role as Ethan Rom on TV’s smash-hit series Lost, but he’s anything but a one-shot wonder. After graduating from Notre Dame with an English Literature degree, Mapother first worked as a middle-school teacher in East Los Angeles. But when his acting career took off, it took off big. Mapother earned critical acclaim for his role as Marisa Tomei’s husband in the Oscar-nominated film In The Bedroom. His film credits also include World Trade Center, The Grudge, Lords Of Dogtown, Minority Report, Magnolia, Swordfish, and Mission: Impossible II. In addition to Lost, Mapother has also appeared in myriad other TV series—including CSI, Law & Order, Threshold, NCIS, and Crossing Jordan. Mapother’s most recent film projects include the upcoming thrillers Hurt and The Burrowers.
