From My Beautiful Laundrette to The Queen, twice Academy Award-nominated Stephen Frears has directed some of Hollywood’s most acclaimed films.

Few Hollywood directors can boast the success of British-born Stephen Frears. His groundbreaking film achievements include My Beautiful Laundrette (1985), The Grifters (2000), the celebrated western The Hi-Lo Country (1998), and the hits High Fidelity (2000) and Dirty Pretty Things (2002). Stephen’s latest film, The Queen (2006), was nominated for an Oscar for “Best Picture.” Stephen is currently at work on the romantic drama Chéri, starring Michelle Pfeiffer and Kathy Bates and due out in 2009.
