For more than a quarter-century, Ed Begley Jr. has been known as one of America’s most versatile and accomplished actors—a statement borne out by Ed’s more than 200 widely varying roles in television and film. Most famously, Ed is renowned as the star of the NBC drama St. Elsewhere (1982-1988). Indeed, Ed’s performance as Dr. Victor Ehrlich earned him six consecutive Emmy Award nominations. Yet Ed has also played prominent roles in such films and TV shows as Mary Hartman, Mary Hartman (1976), Star Trek: Voyager (1996), Six Feet Under (2001-2005), the hit comedy For Your Consideration (2006), and the critically acclaimed HBO movie Recount (2008). Unwilling to rest on his acting laurels, Ed boasts a well-earned reputation as an outspoken environmentalist. Among other forward-thinking endeavors, he also has served on the advisory committee for the group 2004 Racism Watch, founded by fellow actor Ed Asner.
